Senior Research Analyst, Enterprise Communications Infrastructure
Petr Jirovský is a Senior Research Analyst for the IDC’s Enterprise Communications Infrastructure Group where he is responsible for global quantitative networking research spanning a number of enterprise and service provider technologies, including Ethernet switching, routing, WLAN, IP Telephony, Application Delivery, Fibre Channel switching, and Infiniband switching. In this role, he is in charge of design and architecture of complex quantitative models and databases to support a diverse set of client needs. He is directly responsible for the quality and timeliness of the quarterly Worldwide Enterprise Networks Tracker, Datacenter Networks Database, Application Delivery Database, Network Infrastructure Database pivot table deliverables, as well as for writing and contributing to a wide variety of IDC’s market share and forecast documents. In addition, Mr. Jirovský builds ad-hoc custom quantitative models for IDC’s networking consulting practice.
Prior to joining IDC in 2006, Mr. Jirovský worked as an Analyst at CIOview Corp., where he was responsible for the design, project management, development, and product release of ROI and TCO modeling tools that assessed the financial impact of various IT technologies.
Before joining CIOview Corp., Mr. Jirovský was a professional chess player in Europe, and played in professional leagues in Germany and his native Czech Republic, achieving the title of International Master.
Mr. Jirovský holds a M.A. in Economics/International Business & Trade and B.A. in Economics from the University of Economics in Prague, Czech Republic. He is located in IDC’s Framingham, Massachusetts office.
