John N. Johnson

John N. Johnson is vice president
of Finance and Enterprise Services and the chief
information officer (CIO) of Intel Corporation.
In this role, he is jointly responsible for leading
Intel’s global Information
Technology organization. IT’s mission is to
deliver the critical information capabilities needed
to keep Intel running and meet its growth requirements.
IT provides business applications, productivity solutions,
voice and data networking, data center operations,
and custom information solutions to nearly 100,000
employees in over 50 countries. Johnson is also the
director of Intel’s Corporate Emergency Operations
Center.
Johnson joined Intel in
1981 and has held positions as field applications
engineer and regional technical specialist. In
1987, he became the business development manager
for Intel’s fault tolerance microprocessor
component technology. He moved to Folsom, CA in 1988
and became the North America marketing applications
manager. In 1992, he became the director of Worldwide
Technical Marketing, responsible for all applications,
customer technical support, and influencer sales
activities worldwide. He joined the IT organization
in 1999. In 2003 Johnson became vice president of
Finance and Enterprise Services and was responsible
for the IT Customer Services organization. In 2004
he lead IT Operations in the Enterprise Production
Services organization and was appointed to the co-CIO
position in February 2005.
Johnson received his Bachelor of Science Degree in
Inter-disciplinary Engineering from Purdue University
in 1976.
