Michael Prinz
Group CIO, Head of Vendor Management & Sourcing, RWE

Michael Prinz joined group CIO of RWE AG as Head of Vendor Management & Sourcing in 2005. Here he manages the strategic IT vendors relationships and the external IT budget. Global contracts initialization and Sourcing Strategy belong to his activities too and he is also responsible for the IT prices benchmark management of the IT provider RWE Systems.

From 2000 to 2004 he worked for WestLB AG and became Head of the Purchasing Department for IT services in July 2003. In this position he was responsible for the entire WestLB volume of purchase for IT services, information services and software licences. Prior to that he led IT vendor-management and strategy of technology.

During the period from 1990 to 2000 Michael Prinz was head of department at Stinnes-data-Service, the IT service provider of Stinnes AG. Beside the responsibility for the entire infrastructure he successfully led customer projects like GENIOS Wirtschaftsdatenbanken (One of Germany's largest electronic archives) or WestLB online archive.

He started his career 1981 at Mannesmann-Demag with applications development and systems programming. Later on he became IT Project Manager in international ambit. Before that he was lecturer for IT at Berufsschule des Westfälischen Genossenschaftsverbandes (professional school).

Michael Prinz holds a diploma in mathematics from Westfälische Wilhelms-University in Münster, Germany.
