Abstract

This IDC study examines the worldwide distributed server/workload automation software market for the period from 2009 to 2011. Revenue and market shares of the leading vendors are provided for 2011.

"Distributed server/workload automation software revenue grew by 37.0% in 2011 to reach a total of $1.1 billion," states Mary Johnston Turner, research vice president, Enterprise System Management Software. "This is a major milestone in that it is the first time this market has passed the billion-dollar mark in annual sales. We expect growth to continue to be strong in response to increasing demand for automation to streamline the provisioning and day-to-day optimization of virtualized datacenters, converged systems, and cloud environments."
