Abstract

This IDC study looks at emerging trends in and the current adoption of authentication technology in corporate and consumer application scenarios. This includes a look at current product and service offerings and how these map to future trajectories for this technology as it applies to mobile, social networking, and cloud deployment.

"Today, there are many products and services provided to protect users' identity and privacy, and new offerings are coming to market at a rapid pace," said Sally Hudson, research director, Cloud Identity. "The challenge for IT professionals is to match the level of authentication product and/or service with the appropriate digital interactions and ensure that the chosen solution is scalable and adaptable to changing business and IT requirements."
