Abstract 

This IDC update documents the panel session on potentially disruptive technologies that took place at the 48th HPC User Forum meeting. The meeting was held at the Dearborn Inn in Dearborn, Michigan, September 17–19, 2012. The principal theme of the meeting was "Emerging Trends in HPC." Other tasks and topics of the meeting included:
