Abstract

This IDC study represents a vendor assessment of the Oracle-based systems integration ecosystem through the IDC MarketScape model. This assessment discusses both quantitative and qualitative characteristics that explain success in the Oracle implementation ecosystem. This IDC MarketScape covers a variety of vendors participating in the worldwide Oracle implementation ecosystem market. The evaluation is based on a comprehensive and rigorous framework that assesses vendors relative to the criteria and to one another and highlights the factors expected to be the most influential for success in the market in both the short term and the long term.

"With Oracle continuing its strategy to acquire new products and technologies along with client focus on IT consolidation, growth for Oracle implementation services will be coming from migrating clients to new Oracle technologies as well as consolidation of clients' IT environments, from both the application and the infrastructure side," says Ali Zaidi, senior analyst, IT Consulting and Systems Integration Business Strategies at IDC. "IDC believes that while cloud, as a delivery model, will reduce Oracle implementation time frames and the number of manual systems integration tasks vendors need to execute on behalf of their customers, it will be cloud, as a consumption model, that will cause customers and prospects to demand more professional services from Oracle implementation services vendors," says Gard Little, research director, IT Consulting and Systems Integration Business Strategies at IDC.
