Abstract

This IDC Vendor Profile is one in a series of IDC documents that examine automated software quality solutions and provide both vendor analysis and customer reference context for technology adoption. This Vendor Profile assesses the ASQ strategy and position of SAP, a vendor targeting specific, end-to-end quality support for ERP applications and ALM partnerships. In this document, we discuss SAP Solution Manager, SAP Test Data Migration Server, SAP Test Acceleration and Optimization (SAP TAO) application, and third-party integrations. SAP's targeted product capability positions the company for IDC's ASQ analysis with regard to ERP testing. We position SAP within this product category and relative to trends in user adoption for the dynamic testing for ERP only. We do so in the context of an overall economy that remains volatile and demands efficient access to software quality and deployment for core business applications. We also include summaries of SAP customer references including a major pharmaceutical provider that discusses leverage of SAP's and partner ASQ solutions, exemplifying the focus of the SAP approach.
