This IDC study examines the worldwide security SaaS market for the period from 2011 to 2016. A five-year growth forecast for this market is shown for 2012–2016.
"IDC expects security SaaS to grow faster than the overall security market. As the IT infrastructure becomes more complicated, driven in part by mobile computing and cloud computing, security will need to be easier to acquire, deploy, and operate," says Charles Kolodgy, research vice president for IDC's Security Products. "Additionally, as IT assets transition from on-premise form factors into cloud, expect security key security infrastructure technologies such as vulnerability management, identity and access, content control, and even endpoint security to follow suit."
