Abstract

This IDC study examines the modeling and architecture tools market for the period from 2008 to 2016 and illustrates the shares and forecasts of the overall market and each of its four segments: object tools, data modeling tools, business process modeling tools, and enterprise architecture tools. Historical geographic and operating environment breakdowns are also provided for the market and its four segments and a geographic forecast is also provided.

"The modeling and architecture tools market is subject to the same overall shift to deployment technologies and many players have made decisive moves to leverage the BPMS space as a result," said Al Hilwa, program director for Application Development Software Research at IDC. "While trends in the embedded space have buttressed the object modeling segment and even as business process modeling remains healthy in the face of encroaching BPMS, the enterprise architecture segment is expected to be the breakthrough technology in this market over the forecast period."
