This IDC study examines the virtual client computing market for the period from 2011 to 2013. Worldwide market size is provided for 2013, with trends from 2011. Revenue and market share of the leading vendors are provided for 2013. This study also identifies the characteristics that vendors will need to be successful in the future.
"The rise of mobility and companies' requirement to provide governance around employees bringing their own devices drove the virtual client computing market in 2013," said Brett Waldman, research manager, Cloud and Virtualization System Software, at IDC. "However, the user experience was not nearly as good as that of native mobile applications. It is incumbent upon the vendors to improve the mobile experience to have continued success."
