This IDC study presents the 2013 actual revenue of the worldwide and U.S. markets for talent acquisition and staffing services, comparing growth over 2012, and a five-year forecast. The purposes of this study are to identify and quantify the worldwide and U.S. market opportunities for these services areas and to offer recommended strategies for taking advantage of them.
"There is a paradox at the moment. While reduced spending on contingent labor is usually a harbinger of an upswing in permanent hiring, this is not borne out by a complimentary increase in search services," says Lisa Rowan, research vice president, HR, Talent, and Learning Strategies for IDC. "IDC research shows that employers are spending more on development of existing employees than ever before. The talent market is moving slightly away from buying talent in favor of building it."
