This IDC study presents a forecast of the file synchronization and sharing market for the years 2015–2019. Additional analysis includes the key drivers and inhibitors of the FSS market.
"Competition is expected to heat up in the file synchronization and sharing market as vendors broaden their reach," says Vanessa Thompson, research director, Enterprise Social Networks and Collaborative Technologies, at IDC. "Growth in file synchronization and sharing will be accelerated by global business, personal productivity needs, and increased use of cloud-based technologies and automation. However, this is an expensive market to participate in, and profitability is hampered by commoditization. Particularly in business, organizations will adopt services that are Web scale, easy to use and administer, as well as those that offer controls and reporting."
