This IDC Presentation was delivered on November 15, 2012, to end-user organizations that attended IDC's Consumerization of IT event in Central London.
Thanks to IT, the workplace has been through major transformations over the last couple of decades. End-user computing (EUC) today is vastly different and offers much more flexibility to employees, with more to come thanks to the trend toward the consumerization of IT. IT departments across the U.K. must react to this or run the risk of being bypassed altogether by savvy end users, or becoming less relevant to the business itself.
This presentation looks at the main trends in the EUC and CoIT space. More importantly, it highlights the impact of CoIT on end-user computing and the effect this is having on the CIO today, and in the future.
Finally, it presents a roadmap toward a robust end-user computing environment with the enterprise for those IT managers tasked with the unenviable mission of bringing it under control.
