This IDC Manufacturing Insights Perspective discusses the two-day exploration of Insights analysts on the latest experiences at the Dassault Systemes (DS) analyst event, hosted at the company's headquarter in Velizy during their annual trip to Paris in June 2015. The journey that DS has been undertaking in recent years in expanding their next-generation product life-cycle management (PLM) offering, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, has been progressing extremely well with solutions across 12 industries now available on the platform, and it is now entering the second three-year planning cycle. Looking ahead, the key message in this event is that the value that companies had already found with their move to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform will increase dramatically in the future. Specifically, the way companies innovate would need to change and focus on defining a purpose that excites people (customers), and the value that companies offer will be different looking forward, compared with what is being offered today.
