Abstract

This IDC study presents an analysis of the consulting and integration services (CIS) market. While the immediate economic outlook will pose some challenges for growth in the CIS market, the overall outlook up to 2016 does look solid for growth. This will be led by key business factors: first, the need to drive the innovation agenda to build competitive position; second, the call for the transformation of business processes to achieve operational efficiency; and third, the need to build a stronger level of customer centricity.

According to Mayur Sahni, senior analyst, IT Services, IDC Asia/Pacific, "The market environment today explicitly expresses the need to have IT more closely aligned with business processes. This is reflected in several discussions undertaken by IDC with CIOs and line of business executives, who express their opinion that IT will be fully aligned with business processes by 2020. As this transition takes place, core to the success of these projects will be planning and implementation, thereby driving the CIS market."
