Abstract

Progress Software has announced some major changes to its corporate strategy on April 25, 2012 by declaring its plans to divest 10 noncore product lines, which include Actional, Artix, DataXtend, FuseSource, ObjectStore, Orbacus, Orbix, Savvion, Shadow, and Sonic. Fundamentally, Progress Software is trying to refocus its efforts and resources and transforms itself into one of the influential application development and deployment software vendors. As a timely endeavor to address any concerns its ever-important partner ecosystem may have, and also to update them on the latest strategic directions of the company, the company hosted its annual Asia/Pacific including Japan (APIJ) Partner Summit 2012 in Grand Hyatt Macau, People's Republic of China, from July 20 to 22, 2012. The summit attracted over a hundred customers, application partners, distributors, resellers, and systems integrators (SIs) from the region.
