Abstract

This IDC Forecast Update presents an updated five-year forecast for the Asia/Pacific EA software market. It updates the previous forecast for this market published in Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) Enterprise Applications 20112016 Forecast and Analysis (IDC #AP2670105X, February 2011). This study does not contain vendor-specific revenue, market shares, or vendor profiles, all of which will be published in separate studies.

This IDC Forecast Update presents an updated five-year forecast for the Asia/Pacific enterprise applications (EA) software market and each of its constituent submarkets: customer relationship management, enterprise resource management, and product supply chain. It updates the previous forecasts for these markets published in Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) Enterprise Applications 2011-2016 Forecast and Analysis. The information contained in this study was derived from the IDC Enterprise Applications Software Tracker as of May 2012.

"Although buyers will be cautious about their investment in software applications, the need to optimize processes and remain competitive in the market will help the traditional EA market grow. IDC believes that flexible deployment options (software as a service or SaaS, cloud), and other technology trends viz. socialytics, mobility, and big data will further create demand in the long run," says Sabharinath Bala, research manager, Enterprise Application Software, IDC Asia/Pacific.
