Abstract

This IDC study examines the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ IT security products market for the period of 2012 to 2016, as well as trends and market growth forecasts in the same period. IDC expects the overall APEJ security market to grow by 16.3% in 2011, reaching US$3.2 billion.

"We anticipate this positive momentum to continue through the forecast period, generating a 13.1% five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) though 2015, since organizations will keep focusing on expansion and adoption of newer technologies, which will lead to new security investments," says Naveen Hegde, senior market analyst, Software, IDC Asia/Pacific. "We expect CIOs across the region to maintain heavy emphasis on security and business transformation, as security threats are continuing to evolve and are becoming tenacious and organized. Further, organizations across the region will experience a lot more pressure to adhere to international or industrywide regulations. Compliance will drive the need for IT security in general and push spending on advanced compliance solutions," Hegde adds.
