This IDC Update presents the top infrastructure software predictions for 2012 in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan), or APEJ region. Infrastructures across APEJ are slowly, but steadily, moving to a hybrid cloud model, while concurrently there are many organizations that are still running more traditional compute platforms, unable to move due to the demands of the business critical applications built on platforms, such as UNIX and CISC, that are unable to leverage the performance virtualization advances being made on the x86 platform. While there are many issues and aspects of infrastructure management that will be in the minds of CIOs across the region, the overriding interest and concerns will be on how to achieve the most out of the virtualized platform.
