This IDC study represents a vendor assessment of the 2013–2014 telco's ICT services market using the IDC MarketScape model. This assessment covers 12 key telecom service providers (SPs) in the Asia/Pacific region and is based on a comprehensive framework and a set of parameters expected to be most conducive for success in providing ICT services to enterprises in both the short and long term period.
"Escalating operation costs and the need to find new customers or segments to grow business revenue have driven CIOs to look into more innovative ICT solutions to deliver some of these business priorities. Enterprises are looking to service providers, including telcos, to help them deliver some of these business outcomes. SPs are also competing to differentiate themselves in this ICT space by offering more secured networks services, suites of managed solutions including cloud, enterprise mobility, professional services, and vertical-specific solutions to capture higher customer's share of wallet. Some are more advance than others in the telco's ICT space and have illustrated elements of delivering tangible solutions that bring about business benefits," says Sherlin Pang, senior research manager, Asia/Pacific Telecom Operator Strategies.
