Abstract

This IDC Buyer Case Study is based on a conversation IDC had with Michael Ryan, director of operations at Jimmy Monkey, a Singapore-based casual Australasian "Third Wave coffee" café and bar. This conversation centered on the role cloud services and media tablets play in the restaurant business and the effects they have on Jimmy Monkey. Ryan, a veteran in the restaurant business, sees media tablets and cloud-based services becoming increasingly integral parts of his operations. This study contains trends of retail businesses leveraging consumer devices and cloud services, in order to streamline business operations, as well as takeaways for other retail businesses and solution providers to consider.
