This IDC Presentation provides comprehensive insights into how the overarching theme of digital transformation (DX) is shaping the IT services market in Asia/Pacific excluding Japan (APEJ) based on the findings of IDC's Asia/Pacific IT Services End-User Survey. The survey was conducted between October and December 2015, and 1,388 IT services decision makers across industries were interviewed among 13 Asia/Pacific markets.
This study specifically examines the key drivers for enterprise DX initiatives across the region, and how the adoption of DX is impacting IT sourcing models, business functions, and security management practices and perspectives.
"A comparison of two years' results on the top themes for IT services spend shows that APEJ organizations have moved beyond the infrastructure consolidation phase to focus on improving reliability, security, and resilience of the enterprise infrastructure and systems in order to be better prepared for the digital transformation wave. This is a huge and necessary positive step, allowing the CIO focus to shift from technology to people and process. As a result, we expect the IT education and training services market in the region to grow strongly, driven by a huge demand for reskilling in preparation for DX," says Cathy Huang, research manager for IDC's Asia/Pacific IT Services research and the lead author for this report.
