Abstract

This IDC study outlines the results of two surveys from the perspective of employees and CIO and IT decision makers across Australia and New Zealand. The study also analyses current bring-your-own-device (BYOD) deployment policies, employees' preferences, IT management's support, productivity gains, security threats, and future plans.

"Organisations are increasingly embracing BYOD policies to manage the onset of consumerisation, and there is no questioning that the opportunity and challenge for supply-side vendors and partners is immense," says Amy Cheah, market analyst, Infrastructure, IDC New Zealand. "It is just as crucial for vendors and partners to remain relevant in the BYOD conversation as it is for CIOs and IT decision makers, especially as the focal point of end-user computing shifts to tablets and smartphones and an anywhere, anytime working style," Cheah adds.
