This IDC study outlines IDC Australia ICT predictions for 2013. Whilst the industry has been undergoing a period of transformation and cost reduction, 2013 will be the year Australian organisations look to reap rewards of the technology investments.
Companies active in the Australian ICT market are facing one of the most important but uncertain periods. Pulled between two bifurcating forces and obliged to maintain a grip on both, vendors and ICT professionals alike must bridge the two with dexterity.
"On the one hand, they are faced with a dangerously unbalanced European economy, a stagnant United States, and recent data pointing to the flattening of Chinese growth, which are negatively impacting Australian organisations. On the other hand, there is the excitement that new technologies bring; the freedom of mobility, the creative problem solving of Big Data, the interaction that comes with social business, and the disruption brought about by cloud computing," says Matthew Oostveen, research director, IDC Australia.
