This IDC study, which was prepared by the ANZ Telecom Practice, outlines the Australia and New Zealand predictions for 2013. The dominant theme of telecom service providers in the ANZ is moving into a new era of transformation and change. Building a services strategy means placing big bets on emerging technology and moving into adjacent markets. Telecom operators will need to know where to compete, when to partner, and what assets they can bring to the table.
"As we embrace change, this study will detail the important trends we are seeing from a telecommunications angle. It also considers the opportunities for ISVs and hardware vendors in the new ecosystem, through to the implications on the competitive landscape overall," says Dustin Kehoe, associate research director, IDC. "The IDC four pillars — Big Data, cloud, mobile, and social — are important themes that are interwoven through the 2013 Top 10 predictions for ANZ telecommunications."
