This IDC study reviews the top 10 IT security vendors in Canada. Factory revenue is collected from IDC's Canadian Software Tracker and Security Appliance Tracker. The top 10 vendors generate activity from a mix of seven security submarkets highlighted in this study, namely endpoint, identity and access management, messaging, network, security and vulnerability management, Web, and "other" security. The vendors covered in this study include CA Technologies, Cisco, Check Point, Fortinet, HP, IBM, Intel-McAfee, Oracle, Symantec, and Websense.
Kevin Lonergan, analyst, Infrastructure Solutions Group, IDC Canada, says, "In 2014, expect to see continued strong growth in security hardware led by UTM and IDP appliances. Canadian organizations continue their migration to 10GbE switching and consolidation in their datacentres, which is adding to the momentum. No vendors should disappear from the top 10 list this year, but expect some significant changes in ordering as vendors invested in security hardware continue to increase revenue and rank."
