Several changes were made to the taxonomy for 2015, which are outlined in the Market Definition section. This document is the third in a series of yearly security forecasts that will be published by IDC Canada. The security market was worth $1.71 billion in 2014 and is expected to reach approximately $2.55 billion by 2019 at a five-year CAGR of 8.3%.
Kevin Lonergan, analyst, Infrastructure Solutions, IDC Canada, says, "Expect to see Canadian organizations become more reliant on third-party SaaS and managed security services over the forecast period. Fewer organizations will have the proper knowledge and technologies in place to provide ample protection from an increasingly diverse and evolving threat landscape."
