This IDC study examines the application outsourcing services market and provides a forecast for the period from 2012 to 2016. The application outsourcing services market is expected to continue to grow, with spending rising from approximately $1.8 billion in 2011 to $2.3 billion in 2016.

"The application outsourcing services market is very mature and continues to experience healthy but slow growth over the course of the forecast period. There are challenges on the horizon for application outsourcing services, primarily from cloud computing services. However, the value proposition of application outsourcing remains strong and it will survive over the long term," says Jim Westcott, research manager, Application Solutions.
