This IDC study examines the wholesale market for IT services in Canada. The wholesale market for IT services has flown under the radar for decades but is poised to enter an era of expansion and tremendous growth. What is driving these changes are the same forces that are reshaping the overall IT services landscape: analytics, mobility, social technologies and, in particular, cloud computing.
"And just as digital technologies enable firms to transform themselves by entering new markets and creating better products, vendors are quickly moving from hardware and software sales and focusing on cloud-based delivery," says Mark Schrutt, research vice president, Services and Enterprise Applications. "This shift is helping rewrite the rules on how to partner. What has emerged is a new cloud ecosystem made up of data centre providers, professional service firms, software developers, managed service providers, and value-added resellers."
