This IDC Presentation discusses IDC's annual cloud summit held at the Dorchester Hotel in Central London on May 19, 2015. These three short presentations were presented to a vendor audience throughout the evening. The topics are:
- Hubs will make the cloud go round. Accessing cloud services over the public Internet is holding companies back. Cloud hubs, exchanges, and interconnects could enable the enterprise-grade hybrid multicloud if the industry can create a compelling proposition.
- Infrastructure becomes software: A new paradigm for IT consumption and delivery. Infrastructures are transformed in response to digital transformation requirements. Hybrid cloud, Openstack, and DevOps are some of the key drivers of change as private clouds connect with public infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and as IaaS providers fight to survive the race to the bottom.
- Shortcut to digital: Why PaaS issuddenly on therun. PaaS has been the stepchild among clouds for years. But with digital agendas booming, open source widening, and containers becoming viable, this is all about to change spectacularly.
