This IDC study examines the unified communications as a service (UCaaS) market in Western Europe for 2013, with a five-year growth forecast. It includes an assessment of the primary forecast assumptions and trends. The 16 countries covered include Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the U.K. It marks the first time that IDC EMEA has published UCaaS numbers.
"Cloud services are disrupting many markets and traditional businesses and offer great opportunities for both the demand and supply side to reduce complexity and create a more efficient environment. UCaaS solutions can be deployed in public and virtual private cloud environments and allow organizations to procure UC&C technologies in an opex model, significantly reducing the barriers of adoption," said Jan van Vonno, research analyst, IDC European Software and Telecoms. "Across Western Europe, we expect UCaaS uptake within all segments and business sizes growing to approximately $643.8 million by 2018 at a five-year CAGR of 50.1%."
