This IDC study analyzes the security-focused findings of IDC's 2015 European Software Survey. The survey asked 1,451 IT decision makers and influencers from small, midsize, and large enterprises about their IT and business priorities, spending plans, and software procurement processes. It also examined their plans and attitudes regarding a number of software trends, including cloud computing, mobile devices, Big Data, and social software in the enterprise. This study specifically looks at the security concerns and priorities that surround these trends.
"IT security ranks as one of the main IT priorities for IT decision makers. With security products increasingly influenced by the adoption of 3rd Platform technologies, organizations need to rethink their IT security infrastructure. This will be essential in enabling the safe use of cloud services, heterogeneous mobile device environments, and social networks," said Romain Fouchereau, manager, Security Appliance Program, IDC European Systems and Infrastructure Solutions.
