This IDC study analyzes the results of IDC's 2015 European Storage Manager Survey which interviewed 556 storage managers about their investment expectations and top concerns around public cloud storage technologies that will shape their public cloud storage investment in 2015.
"Public cloud storage services are becoming increasingly popular with European organizations, with 50% of European storage managers already using them for archiving and data protection," said Carla Arend, program director, European Storage research."Use of public cloud storage services is also maturing, as cloud usage for disaster recovery and the ability to share data through the cloud are the primary drivers for adoption, while potential cost savings have become less of a driver. In addition, the expectations about cost savings from cloud services are also very modest, as other benefits such as increased flexibility and agility take center stage."
