According to IDC's European semiannual software tracker as of November 2016, the European systems management software market achieved total revenue of $4.6 billion in 2015, representing constant currency growth of 14.5% from 2014. This IDC study presents a five-year forecast for the European systems management software market as of 1H16.
"The Western European systems management software market continues to show robust growth and is expected to total roughly $6.7 billion by 2020," said Carla Arend, program director, IDC European Cloud Practice. "Developers are increasingly setting the agenda and require API-based self-service access to IT infrastructure, which in turn needs higher levels of automation and orchestration. Providing multicloud management is the new frontier."
"IDC's forecast for strong system management software growth to 2020 is driven by a number of factors, including a push for simplified management, collaborative applications, and concerns over IT security," said Michael Ceroici, research analyst, IDC European Infrastructure. "This growth will be led primarily by demand from the U.K. and DACH markets."
