Abstract

This IDC Survey dives deep into the two most important employee experience pillars based on IDC's Seven Pillars of Employee Experience: people-first culture and leadership and employer brand. The purpose is to find out what aspects of these two pillars are important for European employees and what the implications are for European vendors of HCM solutions. The analysis is based on European IDC surveys of 2,785 employees in March 2022 and of 3,527 employees in March 2023.

"Digging more into why European employees are so concerned with culture and leadership, we found that aspects such as open communication, fair compensation, leadership integrity, and supporting management style top the employee wish list. Regrettably, these areas are also where improvement is most needed, according to employees," said Bo Lykkegaard, associate VP for software research in Europe. "We believe that HCM technologies can play an important enabling role for organizations looking to improve in these key aspects of employee experience."
