Abstract

This IDC Survey discusses the "Hybrid Working" pillar in IDC's seven-pillar Employee Experience Model, which aims to assess the status of hybrid and fully remote working in Europe and its implications on European vendors of HCM solutions. The analysis is based on IDC's European surveys of 2,785 employees in March 2022 and of 3,527 employees in March 2023.

"Hybrid working is practiced by the majority of the 3,527 employees surveyed in this report. They are generally relatively upbeat about hybrid working benefits such as better work-life balance and improved collaboration. This is consistent with last year's employee survey that also showed a favorable attitude toward hybrid work among employees," said Bo Lykkegaard, Associate VP for software research in Europe. "However, the responses also highlight challenges when work environments become digital instead of physical that are related to collaboration, connectedness, coordination, and creativity."
