Abstract
This IDC Market Perspective explores how generative AI is reshaping the software development and engineering domain in Europe. While this includes the view of AI-powered software development and engineering, it also looks at software development and engineering as a practice that builds AI-powered applications.
"Very few technologies, if any, have created such a product and marketing investment rush among application delivery vendors and providers as GenAI did in such short span of time. Any early or abrupt busting of the GenAI hype is unlikely, largely because the potential for breakthrough is big, while the areas for vendors to carve out positioning vast enough," said George Mironescu, IDC research lead, App Development and Delivery in EMEA.
