Abstract

This IDC Survey report draws data from IDC's European Employee Experience Survey, focusing on workers' usage of and sentiment toward automation technologies in general, specifically regarding generative AI (GenAI). Comparison of data for Europe and MEA highlights some stunning differences.

"EMEA employees are still undecided about automation. Approximately 50% of participants believe automation will not pose a threat to their jobs and will even enhance their work experience. On the other hand, 20% are against automation, while 30% are still unsure about how automation will affect their work," said Meike Escherich, associate research director, Future of Work Europe at IDC. "Interestingly, data from MEA highlights much faster adoption of automation and AI technologies. As a result, the perception of automation and AI/GenAI solutions is considerably more favorable in the MEA region compared with Western and Eastern Europe."
