IDC's Asia/Pacific Global Sourcing and Delivery service provides an independent outlook of the global delivery market, specifically examining the impact of near shore and offshore delivery of IT and business services on the overall services marketplace. It leverages the IDC Global Delivery Index (GDI), which is a tool that compares 35 Asia/Pacific cities in terms of their attractiveness as locations for the delivery of IT and business services, using more than 30 different criteria. Service providers will be able to use this program to validate their global delivery strategies in the marketplace, whilst end users will use the index to help build their business case for utilizing offshore resources. As the GDI is revisited and refreshed every six months to include the latest data, it will continue to evolve and enterprises can then use it as a key industry barometer.
