The term "datacenter" means many things to many people. For a small organization, the datacenter may in fact represent a small closet that is a growing burden on resources. For larger organizations, the datacenter connotes the major, centralized, raised floor environment that houses the majority of IT systems and is being reshaped by virtualization. In service provider and cloud environments, datacenters are the "factories" for rapidly delivering new services to consumers and businesses.
