Abstract

This IDC Presentation looks at the performance of the Japan small and medium-sized business (SMB) IT market in 2011 and provide forecasts for the 2012–2016 period based on the latest economic trends and product information illuminated by the results of IDC's vendor surveys as of March 2012. We also analyze the IT spending trends based on the results of the Japan SMB User Survey conducted in February 2012. Entering 2012, the reconstruction demand will move into full swing but due to the nationwide power shortage, high yen, and trends in Europe and the United States, uncertainties continue to shroud the Japan economy and many companies continue to hold back on IT spending. IDC forecasts that the Japan SMB IT market will continue negative growth in 2012.
