This IDC study, a translation of the Japan document IDC #JPJ40597115, analyzes and presents the forecasts for the Japan tablet solution market spending and commercial tablet shipment unit from 2015 to 2019 for six industry segments that are actively implementing tablets. These industries include finance, manufacturing, retail, healthcare and welfare, services, and education segments. Apart from these six industry segments, this study also includes and classifies other industry segments as "others." To analyze the enterprise tablet solution market spending, IDC divides the spending into initial investment and annual operation expenses.
"Companies that considered implementing tablets have completed their evaluation, and tablet implementations demand has already been approved. However, there are also many companies that failed to achieve the results they expected. Tablet solutions require vendors to listen to opinions at the site after hardware installation, identify problem spots, and continue improving the system. In other words, the implementation is not the end, but a beginning. Unlike conventional IT that is implemented after increasing its degree of perfection over a long period of time, tablet implementation increases its degree of perfection while continuing to improve after implementation in a short time. This is also one of the features of mobile," says Masahiro Katayama, research manager for PC, Mobile Devices, and Client Solution, IDC Japan.
