This IDC study, a translation of the Japanese document IDC #J12380102, presents the results of IDC surveys on revenue shares, vendor trends, and business trends in the Japan unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) market by solution type. This study also analyzes the estimated size of the Japan UC&C market in 2011, revenue shares of vendors in each solution segment, and business trends of individual vendors. "In the current market environment where IT spending has become a "new normal" and IT spending is unlikely to increase rapidly, UC&C system vendors and sales channels must increase their competitiveness and counter the advances of low-priced products and free services through collaboration with specialist vendors," says Takashi Manabe, research manager, Software and Security Group, IDC Japan.
