The MFP markets will remain subdued during the short term as economic conditions begin to bite more and consumer confidence in many markets remains weak. "The overall outlook remains positive but recent financial results from some of the more prominent brands suggest that some vendors will face tough times ahead and an overall shake-up of the market will occur, meaning that some brands will disappear or become part of an overall larger umbrella organization if they do not adapt more quickly to rapidly changing market conditions," said Phil Sargeant, research manager, IDC.
