This IDC study looks at the developing MFP market through six distribution channels in 2015. The study contains distribution channels' shares and forecast for the MFP market in Western Europe, and it is based on the latest 2019 MFP forecast from published printer reports. Information is provided for all MFP classes, from desktop to high speed. All information is provided for Western Europe as well as for 16 countries: Germany, France, the U.K., Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Ireland.
"The MFP market recovered in 2014, and most parts of the channel saw increased sales as a result. However, shifts in technology and customer demands will mean that some parts of the channel such as dealers will have to invest in software and solution provision if they are not to lose a portion of their businesses to others such as value-added resellers. Channel partners have plenty of opportunities to take advantage of business inkjets, color lasers, and print service contracts, which could lead to long-term cash flows if their business model is applied correctly," said Phil Sargeant, program director, IDC Imaging Printing and Document Solutions Europe.
