This IDC study presents the results of a recent IDC survey of 700 European organizations' IT decision makers from small, midsize, and large European organizations. They were questioned on their current adoption of cloud back-office, CRM, and HCM applications. This study analyzes the survey results, which are detailed out by country, industry, and organization size.

"We wanted to understand to what degree European organizations have adopted cloud-based enterprise applications today. What we found was that cloud-based CRM and HCM applications — not surprisingly — did have the highest adoption rate with 27% and 24%, respectively. When considering CRM, HCM, and back-office applications together, half of the respondents indicated cloud solution use today. This demonstrates that cloud enterprise applications have passed an inflection point and is entering mainstream IT," said Anders Munk Ebbesen, research manager, IDC Nordic Software.
