This IDC study provides an analysis and sizing of the Western European supply chain management (SCM) applications market for 2009 to 2011 and a forecast for 2012–2016. The study segments the SCM applications market by functional market (three functional markets) and by Western European country.

"We live in a time of increased demand volatility and macroeconomic uncertainty, and supply chain vendors must adapt to these changed circumstances and support customers as they struggle to reduce supply chain risks. The $2.2 billion Western European SCM applications market experienced a modest 1.2% constant currency growth in 2011. However, IDC believes that software as a service, smartphones and tablets, and social and collaborative networks will significantly impact SCM applications positively and open up for new usage and business process scenarios," said Bo Lykkegaard, research director, IDC European Enterprise Applications.
