Abstract

This IDC study presents in-depth analysis of the Western European market for enterprise resource management (ERM) applications, with all data reported in constant dollars. The study ranks the largest vendors by functional markets (eight ERM functional markets) and reviews the market performance by country and functional market. The study also contains vendor shares for the software-as-a-service (SaaS) segment. Finally, we provide essential guidance on key strategic priorities for ERM vendors.

"The European ERM applications market had a solid 2011 with 5.0% growth in constant currency. Not surprisingly, the markets such as human capital management and financial performance and strategy management with more green grass opportunities and lower saturation experienced the highest growth rates. On the other hand, markets such as payroll accounting with strong dependency to underlying economic indicators such as unemployment levels experienced slower growth rates," said Bo Lykkegaard, research director, IDC European Enterprise Applications.
