In March and April 2015, IDC's European Software Group surveyed 1,450 decision makers across Western Europe about their current and planned strategies for software usage in their organizations. The survey participants were split between IT and line-of-business (LOB) management, and their organizations represented 13 industry sectors in all the significant Western European software markets.
This IDC Presentation analyzes the results of the survey, drilling down into current and future spending plans and attitudes to critical software topics from both IT and business management. Specific topics of interest are plans for the 3rd Platform technologies of cloud, mobile, social, and Big Data analytics, and how advanced organizations are utilizing the new technologies based on the 3rd Platform, known as Innovation Accelerators. The survey results give insight into European organizations' business and IT priorities as well as software spending plans, segmented by organization size and geography.
